Hans Wegner designed the Wishbone Chair, renowned as that of the CH24 Chair or hans j wegners y chair, for Carl Hansen & Son in 1949. The chair has a knitted envelope pattern on the paper cable rope seat and a bentwood armrest. The backrest of the seat is shaped like a Y or wishbone.
How did he draw motivation?
Interestingly, while Wegner drew motivation from the horseshoe type, a form of Chinese wooden chair used during the Ming dynasty, the chair is an ideal example of modern Scandinavian art style.
